As a non-profit organization, we rely strictly on volunteers to staff and run our business every day. While we maintain an elected Board of Directors, we have many activities in which we could use a “helping hand.”

Handles miscellaneous correspondence and special projects. Requires Microsoft Office familiarity and good writing skills.
Requires Microsoft Office familiarity, experience in writing grand requests and fundraising appeals, and donor contact by telephone, mail, or email.
Stuffs ballots, renewal noticies, and special notice materials for mailings.
Local (Greater Boston) liaison with bookstores and vendors, and other publications assignments. Requires automobile access for Boston-area errands.
Provides research, writing, and/or layout support for RollSign Magazine and/or forthcoming publications. Knowledge of InDesign required if interested in layout support.
Vendor liaison and special projects for our 5706 Streetcar Restoration project. Requires automobile and access for travel to our contractor in Virginia and interpersonal skills in dealing with vendors.
Staff photographer for RollSign Magazine. Requires photographic skills and familiarity with a good digital camera. Photoshop editing capability a plus, and good interpersonal skills in dealing with photographic subjects, permissions, model releases and transit authority officials.
Collects and edits news releases and summarizes current events for publication in RollSign Magazine. Writing skills required.
Helps in setting up, editing, and inserting content into webpages, including our forthcoming Boston Transit eMuseum site. General knowledge of and experience in using WordPress, CSS, and/or HTML preferred.
Help prepare content for our social media platforms.
