Description
On the heels of their sellout first printing last year, the ERA has just reprinted this tremendously popular book on Manhattan’s fondly-remembered elevated railways.
At one time, there was an extensive railway system that traversed most of the island from the Battery through Midtown, Harlem, and on to the Bronx and later Queens. Featuring a large number of photos, many of which are in color, this book covers the steam years of the late 1800s through the end of the Manhattan Elevated in 1955 and its remnants. Three chapters are also dedicated to track diagrams, signals, complete equipment rosters and more!
This second edition inorporates some minor updates and corrections from the first edition.
