When will my order ship?

We are staffed entirely by volunteers. Our order fulfillment volunteer typically works 2-3 times per week filling orders, which are filled in the order that they are received, pending stock availability. Please allow for this in addition to the Media Mail or Priority Mail shipping time. We appreciate your business and support, and work to fill orders as quickly as possible.

Why was an item I ordered out of stock?

We do our best to maintain accurate inventory counts in our online store, but since we also offer mail order sales and in-person sales at events, we sometimes encounter stock discrepancies. In the event an item you ordered is out of stock, we will be happy to either give you a store credit for the amount of the item, or offer you a full refund for the item. We are working on integrating all of our sales into one platform in the future.

I am outside of the United States. How do I place an order?

We are working to integrate international shipping directly into the store, but for the moment, please send us an email at publications@thebsra.org with your desired order, and we will get back to you with a shipping quote and will then issue a PayPal Invoice, which can be paid via major credit card. Thank you in advance for your patience!

Can I join or renew my BSRA membership in the BSRA Bookstore?

I am a BSRA Member. Do I get a discount in the BSRA Bookstore?

Thank you for being a member! We try and offer competitive pricing on all of our products, and as such do not offer additional discounts to BSRA Members. The exception is our own books, for which we are happy to extend a 10% discount on for Regular, Associate, and Intermediate members. To purchase copies of our own books with this discount, please email us at publications@thebsra.org.

Why buy from the BSRA Bookstore, instead of a major website or chain?

All proceeds from sales in the BSRA Bookstore benefit the Boston Street Railway Association, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit historical organization. We try and offer competitive pricing, but are not always able to “beat” our competition due to costs of doing business on a smaller scale, and the function of our book sales as a method of fundraising. Since you’re a nonprofit organization, is my order tax-deductible?

Unfortunately, orders from our store (and BSRA membership dues) are not tax-deductible. However, all donations are 100% tax-deductible, and we appreciate them large and small. For more information about making a donation to the BSRA, click here.
