Description

Sunnyside Yard in New York City was built by the Pennsylvania Railroad as part of its massive New York Extension, the centerpiece of which was Pennsylvania Station in Manhattan. Opened in 1910, it remains the world’s largest railroad passenger storage yard! Hell Gate Bridge was a joint venture of the Pennsylvania Railroad and the New Haven Railroad to construct a direct rail route for trains between NYC and New England, via a 1017-foot span over the East River. Both are covered in this new black & white album!
