Description

The Films of George H. Hill

Between 1948 and ‘54, Boston & Maine Railroad public relations director George Hill took several 16 millimeter films around the B&M system, which give an up-close look at the B&M’s day-to-day operations—which you can view at home on this DVD! Scenes include a ride between Boston and Portland; the Billerica Shops; North Conway, NH; modernized operations at Lowell Tower; cab rides between North Adams, MA and Boston and Concord, NH and Boston; the Concord, NH Shops; Lake Winnipesaukee, NH; Yard 8 classification hump yard in Boston; a ride from Somerville to Wakefield Juncton and Reading; and the scrapping of steam locomotives in Billerica. A must-have!
